Steven Spielberg Nearly Directed One Twin Peaks Episode
Okay, this one’s not related to the new show, but it’s a cool fact nonetheless. Back in the day when second season started to air in the early 90s, Steven Spielberg, who was a major fan of the first season, was all set to direct one Twin Peaks episode, as confirmed at the time by Twin Peaks writer-producer Harley Peyton.
Spielberg was prepared to work on the very first episode of season 2. The well-known movie director was all fired up and was hoping to make it “as weird as possible.” Spielberg’s attitude was admirable, but that just wasn’t enough for Lynch, who had been determined to handle the episode himself. Lynch still wanted Spielberg to handle another further down the road, but it never panned out.
