EVENT: WESTMINISTER KENNEL CLUB DOG SHOW
YEAR: 1968 to present
Shockingly, this event is the second-longest-running sporting event — yeah, we know, but technically that’s what it is — in the U.S. behind the Kentucky Derby. (The dog show began in 1877, the Derby in 1875.) It’s been held at the current MSG location (there have been four total) since it opened in 1968, and has enjoyed a sell-out crowd since 2005. But since we can’t think of a single reason to run a bunch of schnauzers prancing around, we’re showing a clip of Triumph the Insult Comic Dog attending the event instead.
