THE RESCUERS (1977)
More animated anthropomorphic rodents? Sheesh, kids love those things. Anyway, this is the story of the Rescue Aid Society, an international mouse-only group whose job it is to rescue kidnap victims. Which, let’s be honest, is a pretty grown-up premise, no matter how adorable a song they sing at meetings. The mice are voiced by Bob Newhart and Eva Gabor (who manages to make a cartoon mouse hot), which you’ll be very excited about if you’re over 50 … or are us.
