#1. They Weren’t Always Made of Rubber
The first modern condoms were manufactured by Charles Goodyear in 1855 as a replacement for those made of sheep guts. We’re not sure why, as the saying, “Pass me one of some sheep guts, honey.” really seems to set the mood. Goodyear’s invention is how they got their name “rubbers,” even though back then they were reusable.
