The Usual: Long Island Iced Tea (one part vodka, one part tequila, one part rum, one part gin, one part triple sec, 1 1/2 parts sweet and sour mix, a splash of Coke, a total forfeit of your dignity) = 780 calories
The Alternative: Any of the liquors listed above on the rocks with a splash of juice = about 115 calories
The Reason: Not only does one Long Island contain as many calories as an entire meal, nutritionists warn that drinking multiple liquors is especially rough on your liver. And while you might be tempted to swap the splash of juice suggested above for some tonic, don’t—it’s actually packed with sugar. Oh, and unless there’s a happy-hour special, call your liquor; it’s worth the extra dollar, especially in a drink where it’s almost all you taste.
