John Carpenter almost returned to Halloween franchise back in 1998 when Halloween: H20 was being made. Jamie Lee Curtis, who played Laurie Strode in the first two films, H20, led the charge to reunite the original crew for the 20-year anniversary. One of the titles considered: Halloween 7: The Revenge of Laurie Strode. However, Carpenter asked for $ 10 million to direct it, and producer Moustapha Akkad gave the request two thumbs down.
Still, Curtis appeared yet again in what is hands down the worst film in the franchise, Halloween Ressurection. Her character dies, oddly, by a knife to the gut after she had a perfect opportunity to kill her brother Michael. Doesn’t matter — later on Busta Rhymes performs kung fu on Michael Myers. That really happens.
