Charlie Sheen (Two And A Half Men)
Okay, here’s a famous case. Charlie Sheen expressed his wishes to discontinue his portrayal of Charlie Harper in Two and a Half Men. His infamous off-camera behavior contributed much to the state of the entire show, as well as the state of its crew. Longtime co-star Jon Cryer revealed just how tense things could become with Sheen behind the scenes. Exec producer Chuck Lorre and Sheen were known for clashing frequently. So, while half the world applauded Sheen’s extreme lifestyle, and had fun watching and reading about it in tabloids and newspapers, it was that kind of attitude that reflected rather badly on his working environment. In other words, Sheen asked for it. Eventually, he left the show, and the lead role was entrusted to actor Ashton Kutcher.
T.R. Knight (Grey’s Anatomy)
The relationship between actor T.R. Knight (Dr. George O’Malley) and producer Shonda Rhimes T.R. was adored by fans, but it ultimately took its toll. The situation led to a “breakdown in communication” created a kind of tension which accumulated over the years. After season five Knight asked for his character to be killed off and that led to O’Malley being hit by a bus. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Knight said: “My five-year experience proved to me that I could not trust any answer that was given [about the character George]. And with respect, I’m going to leave it at that.”
