Pike’s Gang
The Wild Bunch (1969)
Badass Members: Pike Bishop (William Holden), Freddie Sykes (Edmond O’Brien), Dutch Engstrom (Ernest Borgnine), Lyle Gorch (Warren Oates), Tector Gorch (Ben Johnson), Angel (Jaime Sánchez)
Badass Mission: On the Texas-Mexico border, a robbery gone wrong forces an aging band of outlaws to go into service for a corrupt Mexican generalisimo who wants them to steal guns from the U.S. government in exchange for a hefty reward. Along the way, however, honor and friendship derail the plans, as those pesky virtues tend to do.
Most Badass Moment: The final shootout is one of the greatest battles in the history of cinema. We won’t tell you how the Bunch fares, but know this: Before deciding to start shooting at what appears to be a few battalions of pissed-off Mexican soldiers, the fellas assess their miserable chances … and smile.
Badass Quote: “We’re not gonna get rid of anybody. We’re gonna stick together, just like it used to be. When you side with a man, you stay with him. And if you can’t do that, you’re like some animal. You’re finished!”
