Every American War in a Hundred Words or Less

Gulf War

U.S. v. IRAQ | GULF WAR (1990-1991)
Freedom isn’t free, but it can be won on the cheap. When totally democratically elected President Saddam Hussein tried to claim dominion over neighboring Kuwait by force, the U.S. sent Norman Schwarzkopf and Wolf Blitzer to sort shit out.

After a month of bombs over Baghdad, the ground phase of Operation Desert Storm wrapped the war in four days. Wayward Iraqi Scuds rained vaguely toward coalition forces and on Israel because why not. Otherwise, victory for the coalition (75 percent U.S. troops) was swift yet incomplete, with the conflict conscientiously stopping short of Saddam’s overthrow.
