Cats Purr To … Heal?
Nobody knows for sure. That’s right, it’s not really certain why and how cats purr. A majority of veterinarians are convinced that they purr by vibrating vocal folds deep in the throat. When this happens, a muscle in the larynx opens and closes the air passage about 25 times per second. Another theory is that they use it as a form of self-healing.
