In the last couple of days, Romelu Lukaku returning to Stamford Bridge has started looking more and more likely. Chelsea have had few bids turned down by the Belgian’s current club, Inter Milan, but with the 28-year-old recently demanding that the Nerazzurri’s chiefs accept a reasonable offer, it’s just a matter of time before Inter and Chelsea strike a deal — with reports that around £120m should be enough to convince the San Siro bosses to sell their talisman.
Of course, for Tammy Abraham, who has fallen out of favour since Thomas Tuchel replaced Frank Lampard in the Stamford Bridge helm, it’s a move that would certainly spell the end to his days in west London. Chelsea, who are one of the teams tipped to stop Manchester City from running away with the Premier League title in the football betting, were open to selling the 23-year-old forward this summer anyway, but with Lukaku all but nicking his locker at Cobham Training Ground, the Blues’ hierarchy will now be actively looking to get him off their payroll.
So, without further ado, read on as we take a look at four possible destinations for Tammy Abraham…
Southampton
Southampton talisman Danny Ings had been linked with various clubs this summer, but his recent move to Aston Villa seemed to come out with nowhere — with the two parties keeping very tight lipped until the deal was complete. Losing the 29-year-old striker will be a massive blow for the Saints, and they will surely be heavily backed for relegation in the football predictions if they can’t find a suitable replacement. That’s were Abraham comes in! The 23-year-old is a proven Premier League goalscorer and he has the ability to bag 10+ goals next season, which Southampton will be desperate for.
Arsenal
A move to Chelsea’s cross-city rivals Arsenal could work perfectly for all parties. The Blues will get Abraham off their books, the Gunners will get a much-needed boost in their attacking options, and the striker gets to stay in London — win-win! Mikel Arteta’s side struggled offensively last season, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang finding the back of the net just 10 times in 29 league appearances, and if the north London outfit want to see European football return to the Emirates Stadium, then they will need to add goals to their game next season — and Abraham could be the man to bag those crucial strikes.
West Ham United
West Ham United have been on the hunt for a striker this summer, and with their primary target, Matheus Pereira, opting to join Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal over staying in England, the search goes on in east London. Of course, after finishing an impressive sixth last season, David Moyes’ Hammers will play Europa League football this year, and that could end up being enough to lure Abraham to the London Stadium.
Atalanta
Lukaku’s move to Chelsea could end up causing somewhat of a domino effect, as Inter Milan are reportedly going to make a move for Atalanta’s Duván Zapata, who scored 15 Serie A goals last season. However, if the Colombian does move to the San Siro, then Atalanta are believed to be interested in Abraham as his replacement. According to renowned football journalist, Fabrizio Romano, the clubs are meeting to open talks in the next couple of days. But ultimately, it all depends on Zapata’s move to Inter.
