Instead, offer a legitimate illness and keep it at that. For bonus points, set your alarm for 5 a.m. and email your boss that you’ve been up half the night sick. Then go back to sleep, obviously.

DON’T: GET GREEDY
On average, Americans only use four sick days per year. So calling in for successive absences is a definite red flag. In other words, get over that “24 hour bug” you came down with in 24 hours to keep your boss from getting suspicious.
