Actor Mel Gibson began appearing publicly with Russian musician Oksana Grigorieva even before his divorce from his wife of 26 years was filed. However, their relationship only lasted less than a year and culminated in restraining orders against both parties and charges of domestic violence. A scandal involving alleged taped abuse followed Gibson in the summer of 2010. In 2011, their relationship officially ended with them being awarded joint custody of their daughter, Lucia.
