Shtick: During America’s fleeting fascination in the mid-1980s with a completely fabricated notion of Australian culture, consumers would have bought anything sold with a hearty “Oi!” Recognizing this, Energizer trotted out flamboyant former Aussie-rules footballer Mark “Jacko” Jackson in front of the camera to act like a jackoff … but an oddly watchable jackoff.
Fun Fact: JackO was the company’s last spokesman before it began 20 uninterrupted years of the Energizer bunny.
