The Long, Strange Trip of the VW Bus

Hitler

NO HITLER? PROBABLY NO BUS
Adolph Hitler was a historically bad person and sported a terrible moustache etc. etc. But the fact is, in 1933 the German Chancellor met with engineer Ferdinand Porsche — yep, same guy — and asked him to design a small car for the masses. That car became the Beetle, and that company became Volkswagen. The popularity of the Beetle paved the way for the creation of the production of the Bus.
