Thumbing through a wine glossary is as tiresome as thumbing through a … um, regular glossary. So we made it easy for you; use these words when you need to describe what you’re drinking:
Big: Rich taste, high in alcohol
Dry: It’s not sweet at all
Balanced: No one flavor sticks out
Grassy: Tastes kinda like, yep, grass. Common in Sauvignon Blanc.
Hard: A high-acidity level that may lead to a dry mouth and a feeling like your chest has caught fire
Austere: No fruity flavors that you can detect
