Why Every Big Summer Movie
Is Going To Suck

MAN OF STEEL (JUNE 14)
Not counting animated films, there have been five Superman movies. One or, arguably, two of them (1978’s Superman and 1980’s Superman 2) were … decent. That’s a really shitty batting average when you’re one of the single most recognizable pop-culture icons of all time. Sure, the man who saved Batman – Christopher Nolan – is shepherding the project, but the director is fan-film maker Zack “There Can Always Be More Rape” Snyder, the villain is General Zod (yes again), and both of Superman’s Dads are failed Robin Hoods (Kevin “Prince of Thieves” Costner and Russell “Fat Robin Hood” Crowe). This does not inspire hope.
