Great news for pathetic slobs! The messy geniuses at Brooklyn-based Wool & Prince have created a button-down shirt that was “… worn for 100 days straight. No washing. No dry cleaning. No wrinkles. No odor,” according to their website and Kickstarter page.
So how the hell do their wool shirts repel B.O., cigarette smoke, and overall funk for months without feeling like burlap against your skin? Part or it has to do with the natural properties of wool; the fellas at Wool & Prince go into detail about it on their site, but in a nutshell, it’s tougher than cotton. The other part has to do with the way the wool is treated; Wool & Prince uses a super-secret process that makes the wool way softer and less itchy than you’d expect.
If you’re skeptical that a dude could wear a shirt for 100 days and not wind up with a Superfund Site on his back, we don’t blame you. But Wool & Prince really did have 15 testers try it out. Plus, the Wool & Prince guys are very honest about what their shirts won’t do, like clean themselves after you drunkenly eat a sloppy joe, or withstand 100 days of trail running through the Everglades.
The current batch of No-Wash Shirts are sold out, but you can expect to pay about $100 when they’re back in production.
