Bob Stoops

Topic: The SEC, considered by many to be the premier conference in college football.
Your take: They don’t play any defense.

• The Southeastern Conference (SEC) has featured lots of high-scoring games this season. Too many, some say.

• Oklahoma Coach Bob Stoops — Oklahoma is a member of the Big 12 conference — points out that Texas A&M, which left the Big 12 for the SEC in 2012, only began putting up stellar offensive numbers as a member of the SEC.

• Stats to back Stoops up: Former A&M QB (and current Miami Dolphins QB) Ryan Tannehill averaged 39.1 points and 490.2 yards per game as a member of the Big 12 in 2011. With Heisman Trophy winner and party guy Johnny Manziel taking snaps, Texas A&M averaged 44.5 points and 558.5 yards per game as a member of the SEC in 2012.
